Sport Journey Academy exists to make youth sports the place kids learn to be uncomfortable on purpose — and come back tomorrow wanting more.

Who We Are

The fragility epidemic isn’t a screen problem. It’s a practice problem.

Every parent gets the same advice from every direction. Cut the screen time. Make a plan. Set a limit. And every parent quietly knows the truth: we are losing that fight. The algorithms are better funded, better researched, and more patient than we are. So we stopped treating the device as the enemy.

For Coaches

A framework, not a script. Constraint-led drills, engagement tactics, and a culture that treats a mistake as data.

For Parents

Make organized team activity non-negotiable, then make it count. See what a practice worth your kid’s Saturday looks like.

For Organizations

Objective measurement for the things everyone claims to develop and nobody tracks. AIx turns character into something you can chart.

“An athlete will fail, but the game keeps going and so must they. What a player does after the failure is what defines them.”

21 years, U.S. Air Force · Two-time squadron commander · Basketball coach · Based in Slovenia

I owe my career to sports. My parents coached most of my youth teams, and the lessons that started on a basketball court in Colorado kept resurfacing — through the Air Force Academy, through the year learning Russian at thirty, through commanding 150 Airmen across eighteen disciplines and, later, through a hurricane that took our belongings and forced my kids to changes schools once again.

Every one of those was a test of the same thing: what do you do immediately after it goes wrong?

I retired from the Air Force in 2026, moved my family to Slovenia, and started coaching. Sport Journey Academy is the thing I wanted to hand every coach who shaped me — and every coach who’s shaping someone else’s kid right now.

Tony is my brother. We were raised by the same coaches, and we’ve spent twenty-five years in the same argument about why sports worked on us.

My path led me to work behind the scenes that people rarely see. I’ve spent my career building the systems underneath things — five years as an Air Force Medical Service Corps officer, then a decade at DISH Network running billing and customer strategy for teams of a hundred-plus, then leading operations at Evolve across a portfolio of 35,000 properties. Today I lead business operations at iOR Partners.

Tony knows better what has to happen in a gym. I know how to make it repeatable, measurable, and available to a coach who has forty-five minutes and no staff.
